XFP (10 Gigabit Gigabit Small Form Factor Pluggable) transceiver is widely used in fiber optical switches where XFP socket is present and it is a protocol independent and hot swappable.

Applications

Fiberbit's 10G XFP transceivers are designed for 10G Ethernet 10G BASE per 802.3ae and 10G SOI OC-192/SDH STM-64, and it can support data-rate from 9.953Gb/s to 11.1Gb/s.Digital diagnostics are available via I2C interface as specified in the XFP MSA. Description

XFP transceiver offers customers a variety of 10 Gigabit Ethernet
and Packet-over-SONET/SDH (POS) connectivity options for data center, enterprise
wiring closet, and service provider transport applications.


XFP transceiver is compliant with the 10G Small Form-Factor Pluggable (XFP) Multi-Source Agreement (MSA), supporting data-rate of 10.3125Gbps(10GBASE-LR) or 9.953Gbps 10GBASE-LW), and transmission distance up to 10km on SMF.


The transceiver module comprises a transmitter with 1310nm uncooled EML laser and a receiver with a PIN photodiode. Transmitter and receiver are separate within a wide temperature range of 0℃ to +70℃ and offers optimum heat dissipation and excellent electromagnetic shielding thus enabling high port densities for 10 GbE systems.
