1000Base (Gigabit) SFP transceiver for wide are of applications which require Gigabit Ethernet and similar data rates for dual fiber applications up to 120 km
1000Base (Gigabit) SFP transceiver is a device, which gets used for both telecommunication and data communications applications. The form factor and electrical interface are specified by a multi-source agreement (MSA). It interfaces a network device motherboard (for a switch, router, media converter or similar device) to a fiber optic or copper networking cable. It is a popular industry format jointly developed and supported by many network component vendors. SFP transceivers are designed to support SONET, 1000Base Gigabit Ethernet, Fiber Channel, and other communications standards. Due to its small , SFP obsoletes the formerly widely used gigabit interface converter (GBIC). SFP is sometimes called also as a Mini-GBIC.

1000Base (Gigabit) SFP transceiver are compatible with a number of communication standards like Ethernet, SONET along with many other standards. SFP is an upgraded version of Giga Bit Interface Converter (GBIC) module. SFP uses LC fiber optic cable for its interface whereas SC cable interfaces are used in GBIC. SFP is more space saving than GBIC, since the former has only half the size of the latter. SFP has transmission rate 1 Gbit/s and it can work at distances ranging between 500 meters to hundreds of kilometers. The ‘hot-pluggable’ feature of SFP makes it flexible. Any future changes can be easily incorporated into the SFP module, while the maintenance of the module is also made easier by this hot-pluggable nature of SFP, thereby making it compact.
Fiberbit's Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) 1000Base (Gigabit) transceivers are compatible with the Small Form Factor Pluggable Multi-Sourcing Agreement (MSA). They simultaneously comply with Gigabit Ethernet as specified in IEEE STD 802.3 and 1x Fibre Channel as defined in FC-PI-2 Rev. 10.0 .They are RoHS compliant and lead-free.

Modern networks rarely rely on pure topologies like bus, ring, or star. Most common solutions use hybrid topologies, which are combinations of features from those three.
As it is clear from the name, star-wired ring topology has features of star and ring topologies. You can see example of this topology ...
